Symptoms of Poor Garden Drainage

Factors Contributing to Poor Drainage
- Soil type particularly heavy clay
- Lie of the land

The Solution
- The installation of a herringbone drainage system with gravel place below the surface of your lawn.
- Replacing the existing faulty system.
- In some cases, totally replacing soil type utilising sand, gravel and top soil.

Where there is no obvious outlet for water, a sump can be installed with electric pump to remove water to nearby drain or ditch.

In some instances, a natural “run-off” can be achieved without the use of a sump system. Ground levels can be taken to establish the natural run of water and new drains can be installed to remedy the flooding.

We arranged for THM Drainage to fix our drainage issue that we had in the back garden.The pipes turned out to be extremely deep, however this was not an issue as Ewan and his team spared no effort to solve the problem. The whole job only took 2 days from start to finish and he kept us informed at all times.

Went to Ewan from great reviews online. We had a damp smell from water draining down our garden and under our house. Ewan asked for photos and advised us to heat the house because it had been empty and advised us to wait and see if the smell dissipated and did not rush to take our money!
Then we had a downpour and water was evident. Ewan gave us an estimate that was lower than another contractor. When he came to survey he realised we had limited access to the back garden and couldn’t get machinery in so we would need to do it by manual labour. We expected to pay more but he said the garden was smaller than my initial measurements so the estimate remained the same. He did a professional job. No more water and we are very happy.
